Dr. Robert P. Scholz

Dr. Robert P. Scholz - Symposium Moderator

Robert P. Scholz completed his orthodontic certification at the University of California San Francisco in 1963 and enjoys a part time private practice in the Bay Area. He maintained an appointment at UCSF for twenty years departing as Clinical Professor in 1987 and currently has appointments as Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Temple University in Philadelphia and is the Editor of Techno Bytes, the technology section of the AJO/DO. He has lectured world wide on various subjects including functional appliances, practice management, the PC based digital imaging systems and most recently, on the radiology decision and technology subjects of interest to orthodontists.

Dr. Aaron Molen

Dr. Aaron Molen

Aaron Molen received his B.S. in Zoology in 2001 from Brigham Young University, his D.D.S in 2005 from Loma Linda University and his Certificate in Orthodontics and M.S. in Oral Biology from UCLA in 2008.  He was Chief Resident during his postdoctoral training at UCLA and also served as Speaker of the House for the American Student Dental Association.  Aaron’s thesis project involved the use of the NewTom 3G to evaluate its efficacy in the diagnosis and treatment of cleft palate patients.  Aaron is in private practice in the Seattle area and is currently on faculty at the UCLA Section of Orthodontics.  He has already become a sought after speaker on the topic of cone beam technology.

Dr. Lucia Cevidanes

Dr. Lucia Cevidanes

Lucia Cevidanes is Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where she is conducting a great deal of research focusing on superimposition techniques for dicom data. Working with Dr. William Proffit since  2003, she has published numerous articles describing color mapping techniques to measure changes in condylar morphology and has investigated several software programs that are used to analyse dicom data. Her  work on 3D superimposition has   received the AAO Thomas Graber Award of Special Merit  and the Dewel Award for  best  clinical papers in AJODO. She received her DDS degree from the  Goias  University, Brazil  in1989, and MS in Orthodontics degrees from  the University of Sao Paulo Brasil in 1994 and her PhD in Oral Biology from UNC-CH School of Dentistry in 2003. She has lectured world wide on the above topics.

Dr. Craig Scholz

Dr. Craig Scholz

Dr. Craig Scholz is the owner of three digital and 3D imaging centers in Southern California. Prior to his interest in 3D imaging, Craig worked as the West Coast sales rep for Ortho II computer systems for over 20 years. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara and a PhD. from Pepperdine University. In his addition to his work at the imaging centers, Craig is currently the Emerging Technology Consultant for Ortho II computers and also manages the West Coast hardware & software sales for the company with his associate Jordan Reiss

Dr. David Hatcher

Dr. David Hatcher 

David Hatcher received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Washington in 1973. Subsequently he completed two years of active duty in the U.S. Public Health Service and a one year general practice residency program at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Following three years as an instructor and one year as active director of the general practice residency program and the hospital dental clinic at the University of Washington, Dr. Hatcher the graduate program in radiology at the University of Toronto and was granted a specialty in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in 1982 and an M.Sc. in 1983. His thesis topic dealt with radiology of mandibular dysfunction

Mr. Chester Wang is a pioneering member of Dolphin Imaging & Management Solutions, and has served as managing director since 1995. He continues to expand his knowledge and proficiency in diagnostics and orthodontics with practical training and travel to universities and private practices worldwide, and works with dental-specialty practices to help them effectively utilize the latest technologies.

Mr. Wang continues to position Dolphin as a dominant force in the rapidly changing industry of dental-specialty technology. Prior to Dolphin, Mr. Wang was a software developer at Xerox and IBM. He received his BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from UCLA. He currently resides in Los Angeles.

Dr. Scott D. Ganz

Scott D. Ganz, DMD graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry - New Jersey Dental School. He completed a three-year specialty program in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.  This was followed by 23 years of clinical experience (both surgical and restorative phases) with most major implant systems available today.  Dr. Ganz has been a pioneer in the evolution and use of CT and CBCT imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning, presenting worldwide with over 55 articles in publication.

Dr. Jack Krauser

Dr. Jack Krauser

Jack T Krauser DMD graduated from the Univ of Pennsylvania SDM and attended Boston Univ SGD for advanced training in Periodontics.  He is in private practice in Boca Raton, Florida specializing in Periodontal Regeneration and Dental Implantology.  Over the years he has published over 20 articles and three text chapters.  A diplomate of the ICOI, he also serves as its Treasurer.  He is a member of many implant and periodontal organizations.  Special areas of interest are "Site Development for Implants" and "Computer Guided Implant Surgery".  He has developed components that are used today in implant dentistry, and he has been a consultant for several implant companies. He is also a faculty member of the U Miami Dept of OM. Miami. FL.

Dr. Tom Marcel received his dental degree and orthodontic certificate at the University of California, San Francisco.  He is a guest lecturer at the UOP/Art Dugoni School of Dentistry, UCSF and the University of North Carolina orthodontic residency programs.  He has published articles in areas ranging from Temporomandibular joint function to technology in the modern orthodontic office to practice management.  He has lectured nationally and internationally to dental and orthodontic groups.  He serves on the advisory boards of several progressive orthodontic companies.  He maintains a private practice in Livermore, California where he resides with his wife, orthodontist Claire Ogata Marcel, and his two children.

Mr. Curley is a senior trial attorney in the San Francisco based health care defense firm of Bradley, Curley, Asiano, Barrabee & Crawford, P.C.. After graduating from UC Berkeley with honors in 1970, he obtained his JD in 1974 from the University of California, Hastings School of Law in San Francisco and is currently an Assistant Professor of Dental Jurisprudence at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. As a trial attorney he has been defending doctors for over 30 years and has given risk management courses throughout the United States. He is an associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Curley has published several articles on risk management and authored chapters in text books: Babbush (Implants), Peterson (Oral Surgery), Cohen (Endodontics) and Block (Implants).
